Men and G-Strings – A Look into the Past and a Personal Story
Julian from The Tinder Box: Hi Paul! You're not only open to wearing strings, but you also bring a unique perspective. But did you know that thongs were originally worn by men?
Paul (Interviewee): Hey! Yes, I actually knew that. It even inspired me to try one myself back then – but more on that in a moment.
A Personal Anecdote: The First Thong
Julian from The Tinder Box: You have a story about the first time you wore a thong?
Paul: Oh yes, and it’s quite funny! A few years ago, I was on a beach vacation in Spain with some friends. I saw a men's swim thong in a small shop – bright red, very eye-catching. My friends dared me to buy it, so I thought, "Why not?"
Julian from The Tinder Box: And how was it?
Paul: At first, a bit weird because I thought everyone was staring. But honestly, it was incredibly comfortable, and after a while, I noticed how people reacted to it. The best part was that I didn’t have to worry about awkward tan lines! By the end of the vacation, two of my friends had bought one as well.
Why Thongs for Men?
Julian from The Tinder Box: Do you think this beach vacation helped you overcome your reservations?
Paul: Absolutely. After that, I thought: If I can wear this at the beach, why not in everyday life? And that’s how it started. First, a few for sports, then for tight jeans, and now I have more thongs than boxer shorts in my wardrobe.
Thongs and Masculinity: What Do You Say to the Doubters?
Julian from The Tinder Box: There are still prejudices against men wearing thongs. What’s your take on that?
Paul: Many people don’t know that thongs originally came from men’s fashion. And my story shows that, in the end, it’s all about how you feel wearing them. Men choosing to wear a thong are simply returning to a long-standing tradition. This is also reflected in bodybuilding, which embraces the classical Western ideal of beauty. For me, it’s completely normal now – and I feel like other men might think the same if they just gave it a try.
Why Thongs for Men?
Julian from The Tinder Box: You wear thongs in everyday life. What’s the appeal?
Paul: They’re practical and comfortable. Especially for sports or under tight clothing like dress pants, thongs are unbeatable. And as I mentioned, I like that I’m bringing a piece of masculine fashion history into the present.
Thongs for Women: Your Perspective
Julian from The Tinder Box: How do you see thongs for women?
Paul: I think they look just as good on women as they do on men. What I love is the elegance they can exude – whether lace or simple materials. But what I always say is: It’s less about the garment itself and more about how someone wears it. Confidence makes all the difference.
Julian from The Tinder Box: Thank you, Paul, for your openness and for sharing a story that will surely inspire many.
Paul: Thank you! And guys, remember: Sometimes, the adventure begins with a red thong in Spain. 😉
